Back to School 2008
As we wait for the school year to begin, our “ministry” year kicked off on Sunday night, August 17th as we welcomed a dozen new youth to our fellowship. Most of the rising seventh graders attended our back to school dinner last Wednesday evening, but please get in touch if any youth or parents have any questions about what we do and who we are.
We’ll spend most of the fall getting to know each other before any major trips or events, but we do plan to have our annual Winter Retreat at Massanutten Ski resort again in January or February. The other big trip on the calendar for now is a return to Global Youth camp in Lynchburg the second week of June. We encourage all of our youth to attend this camp.
Our Wednesday evening Bible study begins on Wednesday, August 20 and this semester we plan to follow God’s story from Genesis to Isaiah. Our study will include drama/comedy video presentations from the video “Good God Theater” by Ted and Company. The study will begin at Creation and end with Advent.
For Sunday evenings, a new dinner schedule will be mailed soon, but on August 31, we will travel to the home of the Van Wicklers for dinner and recreation. Because of the travel, we will be returning to the church later than our normal 8:00 ending time.
