What is Formation?

But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,  Ephesians 4:15 

“Christian Formation” and “Spiritual Formation” are both terms that describe spiritual growth and maturation in faith. It describes a believer’s spiritual development, both individually and as part of the faith community. “Formation” includes classic Christian education and discipleship training, prayer, and the practice of spiritual disciplines, as well as the development of spiritual gifts. ”Formation” is the progressive transformation of our lives.  As believers, the presence of Christ becomes evident to us and in us. In the Bible, the apostle Paul called it being, “conformed” to the image of Jesus Christ. Jesus called it discipleship.    

“Go therefore and make desciples of all nations”  -Matthew 28:19
