Since faith applies to all areas of life, we regularly provide a host of various courses which offer practical help for everyday matters.  Dinner begins at 5:30pm. Courses are scheduled 6:30-7:30pm on Wednesdays concurrent with school year and are open to all.

Fall 2010

L.I.F.E. courses include:

Crossings – God’s Journey With Us
Course Leader:  Rev. Lance King 
Course fee:  $7 for participant guide
This 12 week course will explore the eight core stories of the bible.  Theologian Walter Brueggermann calls them the “primal narrative – that most simple, elemental, and non-negotiable story line that liew at the heart of biblical faith.”  Class gathering will include DVD clips and dialogue.

Fibers of Faith
Course leader: Melanie Bowyer
Course fee: no cost
Join us in a time of fellowship as we share the gifts that God has given us. This fall, participants will have a chance to complete a project of their choice. There will also be a guided project, to be donated to charity, for those who are interested. We welcome all levels of experience in sewing, knitting, embroidering, smocking, or any other fiber art. There is no cost associated with the class. Attendees are encouraged to bring their Bibles to the weekly meetings.  12 week program

THE STORYTELLER and the stories
Course leader: Rev. Benny Clark
Course fee: $5 for study guide–The Parables
The 12 week class will look at the important part oral tradition has played in the Judeo-Christian tradition as well as the continued use of oral tradition. We will see how Jesus used stories in defining the Kingdom of God. Jesus was the master storyteller. Have you thought about the role oral tradition has played in Native American lore? What are some of your stories which have been passed down to you? We will study stories and tellers and you will get to tell your stories. 

Restoring Margin to Overloaded Lives
Course leader: Alan Alfano
Course fee: $5 per workbook
“Margin” is the space between your load and your limits. If you are chronically overloaded- If you don’t have enough time, physical/emotional energy or money to accomplish the tasks you take on in a given week, then you might be headed for system (and spiritual) failure! Written by a Christian physician, this course teaches the language of overload along with practical solutions to help you restore “margin” to overloaded lives.  12 week study.

5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Daughter by Vicki Courtney Course leader: Katina Dudley
Course fee: $6 for book
This bible study is for moms of daughters from the cradle to college. This six-session group experience will help you discover God’s take on critical issues. We will explore the hot-button issues you’re sure to face and give you tools to navigate the land mines with confidence. Each participant should purchase a member book to use during the week as you prepare for the bible study. Preparation during the week could be a few minutes each day or all in one day.

Joyful Praise Singers- 1st-6th grade children’s choir

Mission Friends- 2 yrs-Kindergarten  learning of God’s love for each person in life.
