About CG Preschool

Chestnut Grove Preschool is located at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Earlysville, Virginia, a growing community nestled beyond the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and a suburb of Charlottesville.
Chestnut Grove Preschool is a Religiously Exempt Child Day Center, governed by the Code of Virginia through the Virginia Department of Social Services.

The Preschool Staff are members of/affiliated with the National Association of Education of Young Children.

Kris Moran

Director
Originally from the Philadelphia area, Kris received her undergraduate degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Pennsylvania State University and her Master of Education degree from Marymount University.  Kris taught 4th grade in Loudoun County Public Schools before moving to Albemarle County in 2004.  She holds a current teaching license from the Commonwealth of Virginia and is certified to teach preschool through 8th grade students.  Kris is a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church and resides in Earlysville with her husband and three children.

 

 Stephanie Haden
Pre-K Teacher
Stephanie spent most of her early life in Richmond. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Education.  Stephanie taught middle school science in Fluvanna County before she came to the Charlottesville area.  She was the teaching assistant at Chestnut Grove Preschool in 2007-2008.   Stephanie has a teaching style that will stimulate creativity and imagination in her pre-kindergarten students. Stephanie is a member of the congregation at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church and with her husband is raising their three daughters in Earlysville.

 

  Demmie Maine
Pre-K Teacher
Demmie grew up in Charlottesville and attended local public schools.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Development from Virginia Tech.  In 1980, she began her teaching career in the Boston area and has taught preschool during the past 28 years.  Her passion is the education of young children. Demmie has lots of energy and creative teaching ideas that provide a stimulating learning environment for her pre-kindergarten students.  She is a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, lives in Earlysville with her husband of 30 years, and has three children.  Her hobbies include music, art, sewing, skiing, traveling, and nature.
